Sarah Altusky

Mrs. Sarah Altusky, 91, formerly of Williamstown, MA died Friday, February 5, 2010 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA. She had been a resident at Kimball Farms in Lenox, MA for the past year.

Born December 24, 1918 in Lodz, Poland, she was the daughter of Joseph and Cipora Bielawska Cender. She attended schools in Poland.

Sarah was a Holocaust survivor. She married her husband, Hirsh, on January 17, 1946 in Germany. In 1949 the couple made their home in New York City before moving to the Berkshires in 2001. Mr. Altusky died August 5, 2006.

She is survived by her daughter, Cipora Brown Feiner and her son-in-law, Steven Feiner of Alford, MA.

Funeral service for the late Sarah Altusky will be held on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Hevreh of Southern Berkshire in Great Barrington, conducted by Rabbi Ari Rosenberg. Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Ahavath Sholom Cemetery in Great Barrington.
