Adrienne Shufro Silverstein, aged 93, passed away on January 9, 2026, at her residence in Sarasota, Florida, surrounded by family. A private service will be held on Wednesday, January 14.
Known for her deep love of the arts, civics, education, and community, Adrienne spent her life not only engaging with new and historical organizations and creative works but also sharing them and their lessons with others. At the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Adrienne led tours as a Gallery Instructor. Working primarily with schoolchildren, she shared her unique knowledge, perspective, and enthusiasm for the works of art in the museum. The wife of the late Boston Symphony Orchestra concertmaster Joseph Silverstein, she was a prominent figure in the classical music communities in Boston, the Berkshires, and Salt Lake City.
Adrienne is survived by 3 children, Bunny, Deborah, and Marc (Arla), and her 4 grandchildren, Rebecca, Claire, Matthew, and Benjamin. Donations in her memory may be made to an arts or educational charity of one's choice.
