Anne Rae Hyatt

Anne Rae Thomson Hyatt passed away on December 7, 2017 at her home.

Born on November 27, 1934, in White Plains, NY, she was the daughter of George and Christine Young Thomson. At an early age, her family moved to Sheffield where Anne graduated from Sheffield High School.

In 1955 Anne married Arthur Hyatt in Sheffield.  They shared sixty-two years of marriage and raised their three children in the Berkshires.  Anne was primarily a homemaker and in her younger years she enjoyed playing golf and tennis, was an accomplished artist, an avid reader and gardener.  She was an active member of the Old Parish Church in Sheffield where she belonged to the choir and the quilting group.  She did volunteer work for Hospicecare in the Berkshires as well as Meals on Wheels.  One of her greatest joys in life was being a grandmother at which she excelled.

Anne is survived by her loving husband Arthur, her three children; Karen Hyatt Sibley and her husband Scott of Scituate, RI, Keith Hyatt and his wife Kim of Sheffield and Brian Hyatt and his wife Maryann of Sheffield. She also leaves her adoring grandchildren Emily Christine Sibley and her husband Andrew Snow of Norton, MA., Rachel Elizabeth Sibley of Scituate, RI and Meredith Rae and Lydia Anne Sibley both of Chicago, IL.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 16th at 11:00 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Sheffield, Old Parish Church, conducted by Rev. Jill Graham.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 15th from 4-7p.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington.

Memorial donations may be made to either the Sheffield Senior Center or HopsiceCare in the Berkshires through Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home , 426 Main Street, Gt.
