Mrs. Barbara P. Robbins, 93, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2015.
Born in Cummington, MA on May 29, 1922 she was the daughter Jesse R. and Myrtle Streeter Porter.
She married her husband, the late Horace “Hob” Robbins on June 17, 1944 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Together the couple made their home in Sheffield in the early 1950’s. Barbara dedicated her time and energy to caring for her husband and her children, this left her time for little else.
She loved to collect anything having to do with cardinals.
Barbara is survived by her five children; Marion Consaul of Sheffield, Horace Robbins, Jr. and wife Pam of Thurmont, Maryland, Wayne Robbins and wife Jean of Myrtle Beach, SC, Vivian Stalker and husband Harold, Sr. of Ashley Falls, MA; her foster son, John Daniels and wife Darlene of Derry, NH; ten grandchildren, Tina, Domenic, Shelby, Scott, Dean, Jill, Harold, Jr., William, Matthew and Samantha, sixteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers, Robert Porter and Morris “Johnny” Porter, her brother-in-law Levi Robbins and her sister-in-law Janice Dupuis.
She was predeceased by her husband of fifty seven years, Horace “Hob” Robbins who died on June 27, 2001. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Raymond, William “Billy”, Garfield and Wilbert Porter and her sisters Arlene Twist, Priscilla Lyons and Margaret “Peggy” Sears as well as three grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for the late Barbara P. Robbins will be held on Wednesday, November 25th at 11:00 a.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington. Burial will follow at the Ashley Falls Cemetery in Ashley Falls.
The family will receive friends on from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
