Barbara Snyder

Barbara Lee Snyder, 79, resident of Great Barrington, MA, passed away on Saturday, November 5th, 2022. Barbara was born in Pittsfield on August 22, 1943. She was the daughter of John and Angelina Metallo and graduated from Searles High School (1961) in Great Barrington, MA.

Barbara was an educator, wife, mother, sister, nana, and more. She had a passion for educating and spent twenty-two years teaching special education at Bryant School in Great Barrington, MA. Her students meant the world to her. She spent her early years participating in golf and bowling leagues.

Anyone who was lucky enough to know Barbara knew just how much she loves her family. She leaves behind her husband of fifty-nine years, John Snyder (82) of Great Barrington, MA, as well as her sister Linda Pruhenski (Ed). Her sons, John Snyder Jr. (Joely), Joe Snyder (Nicole), and Jeff Snyder (Elizabeth). Her grandchildren, Skylar, Autumn, Caitlyn, Giada, Parker, and Ricky.

SERVICES – A private funeral for the immediate family will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2022. Following the funeral, the family encourages all to join in the celebration of Barbara’s life at the Great Barrington VFW after 12:30pm.
