SOUTHFIELD, MA - Beverly Ann Litchfield beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend departed this earth September 27, 2018 to be reunited with her husband Bernard.
Beverly was born October 6, 1942 in Canaan Ct. to Ruth Crine Stevens and William C. Stevens. The middle child of three, Beverly spent her whole life as a Southfield resident where she enjoyed a childhood with many friends and great memories. As a child and young woman, she loved the simple life filled with games of tag, baseball, and time spent with her horses.
Beverly was an adventurous girl and longed to take her place in adulthood. After completing her junior year at Mount Everett Regional High School, she married the love of her life Bernard D. Litchfield, Jr. on May 16, 1959. It wasn’t long after, their first of five children arrived as did the trials of adult life. Beverly was a loving mother to her children and a devoted partner to her husband. Not only did she enjoy her role as a homemaker but she was also employed for many years in the health care field working at several nursing homes where she helped to transition those residents.
Beverly also served as past president of the New Marlborough Volunteer Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the American Cancer Society, Fairview Hospital’s Auxiliary and a regular at all Red Cross blood drives. Beverly was a devoted wife to her husband Bernard and enjoyed their many vacations to Florida as well as an occasional cruise. She would always find time for her children and their varied activities while always making sure we gathered for family time over one of her delicious meals.
Beverly leaves behind a brother Robert and his wife Rita, a sister—in-law Betty Shepard, sons Daniel and wife Becky, William and wife Cathie and Robert. She also leaves behind a daughter Maureen and her husband Joe as well as her Grandchildren Crystal, John, Hannah, Danielle, Abigail and Daniel and great grandchildren Amber, Jeff, Renee, Lilly, Aleeah and Caliana along with many dear friends.
Beverly was predeceased by her husband Bernard, parents Ruth and William, daughter Marilyn, as well as a sister Marilyn.
Beverly will be missed by all of those who loved her and remember her for her sense of humor and generosity.
