Brian L. Wool, 58, of Great Barrington, Massachusetts died on February 18, 2022 at Albany Medical Center. Brian was born in Great Barrington on March 23, 1963 to Martha A. (Dellea) Wool of Great Barrington and the late Alan A. Wool.
Brian was educated in local schools and was a 1981 graduate of Monument Mountain Regional High School.
Brian loved the woods and was knowledgeable about trees and their species. He had a true appreciation for nature and animals. He also enjoyed working in his yard when he was in better health.
Brian worked as a heavy equipment operator for local construction companies for many years, as well as a logger. In his younger years, he built his own post and beam home, cutting the trees and carving the joinery himself. He also made several pieces of furniture.
Brian is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, the former JoAnne Musacchio, his mother, Martha of Great Barrington, his sister, Terry Hall, her son, James and James’ spouse, M. Florence Hall, all of Monterey, his mother-in-law Teresa Musacchio of Pittsfield, and his sister-in-law, Andrea Granfield and her husband, Michael, also of Pittsfield. He also leaves behind extended family and friends as well as his beloved cat, Milo.
Brian was predeceased by his father, Alan, his brother, Jeffrey, his father-in-law, Joseph Musacchio, and his brother-in-law, James Hall.
The family would like to thank all of the wonderful doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who cared for Brian throughout his illness.
SERVICES – The family will receive family and friends on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 11:00am to noon at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington, MA. A brief closing prayer will be shared at noon.
