Bruce I. Panock

Bruce Panock was born to Ruby and Annetta Panock in Bronx, NY on May 18,1951. He grew up in Fairlawn, NJ and moved to Manhattan, NY upon his marriage to Ellen Antoville. On retirement, they moved to Sheffield, MA. Bruce died on September 5, 2026 after suffering chronic rejection of a transplanted lung. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Ellen, and two brothers, Richard and Jerry.

Bruce Panock was a quiet, focused, talented and determined person. He was much loved by his wife, family and friends. He was a very loving, caring husband.

Bruce was passionate about his professional work. He had a long, successful career at major accounting firms. When he retired, he turned his focus to photography, initially street photography while living in Manhattan, and, after moving to the Berkshires, shooting what was available to him: nature. His was not traditional landscape. He selected elements from nature to create abstract, emotive imagery by manipulating these images. He successfully transitioned from detailed analytic work to pure creativity. He developed a keen eye and created beautiful works.

Bruce became an active participant in the local photography community. Initially shooting film, he transitioned to digital photography and became fluent in printing and the use of special papers. He was generous in sharing his knowledge with others.

Bruce faced great health challenges in life. He was the recipient of a lung transplant in 2014, followed by transplant induced cancers (to which immunosuppressants made him vulnerable). He faced these challenges with determination, optimism and courage. He was consistently a positive and loving husband and will be greatly missed.
