Carol E. Purcell

Long time resident of Great Barrington, MA, Carol Purcell died on Saturday morning, Oct 26, 2024.

Born in 1930 in Riverside, CA, she was the daughter of Ezra and Edith Egly.  Carol lived on six continents before she and her husband Arthur retired.

Past president of the People’s Pantry in Great Barrington, she has been an active member of the community since moving here in 1978.

She is survived by 5 children, Arthur Purcell of Andover, MA, Geoffrey Purcell of Great Barrington, MA, Rachel Purcell of Ashley Falls, MA, Nathaniel Purcell of New Brunswick, Canada, and Tristram Purcell of Housatonic, MA.  She also leaves 7 grandchildren, Jess Purcell, Carolyn Pope, Charlotte King, Andrew Purcell, Sam Purcell, Robin Purcell and Islay Purcell.

She was predeceased by her husband Arthur W. Purcell.

In accordance with her wishes there are no services.
