Cathy Goldstein Kruvant died peacefully on July 12, 2026, surrounded by her gardens and loved ones in Richmond, MA. She was 69 years old. Cathy was born in Queens, NY where she lived before moving with her family to Roslyn, NY, in high school. A social butterfly and a dedicated student, she attended Washington University in St. Louis before getting her JD at American University in DC. Upon graduation, she worked at a law firm where she met J. Kenneth Kruvant of South Orange, NJ, who worked diligently to convince her to date him. What followed was 40+ years of fierce devotion and love.
Cathy left the workforce after her role as a Books and Publications Editor at The American Trial Lawyers Association to pour her boundless energy into raising her beloved daughters: Lexi, Mackenzie, and Chloe. She cheered them on with unwavering love and enthusiasm.
She was a room parent, led community service programs like Soup’s On and ran ultra-successful auctions and fundraising initiatives for schools including The Lab School of Washington and Edmund Burke. But that is just what she did. Who she was was full of life and color—from her house to her clothing.
Always thinking of others, she went above and beyond for her community. Whether it was making beautifully embroidered pillows for family, buying up almost the entire Old Navy for families in need, or baking her famous oatmeal lace cookies for the members of Ken’s office, she will be remembered by countless people for her big heart, laugh, sunshine smile, and beautiful blue eyes. Forever a hostess, she was happiest when her house was full of children. She prided herself on having the home where all of her girls’ friends felt most comfortable and welcomed—especially by the fridge filled with soda and the pantry filled with Milanos and Gushers.
She will be forever loved by her husband Ken Kruvant and their daughters Lexi Fischer, Mackenzie Kruvant, and Chloe Coan, as well as their partners Jeff Fischer, Estelle Caswell, and Brandon Coan, and Cathy’s fiercely loyal caregiver Jovie Pinto. Graham Fischer, Charlie Fischer, Wyatt Fischer, and soon-to-be-born Baby Coan will miss their Yaya.
She was preceded in death by her mother Sue “Nana” Goldstein and father Harvey “Pop” Goldstein.
To honor Cathy, listen to some Broadway hits, eat some chocolate, and wear something yellow in her honor; that’s what she would have wanted most. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association either directly or c/o Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home, 426 Main Street, Great Barrington, MA 01230.
