Coralice (Coree) Potter Michaelyan, 92, of Great Barrington died on July 31, 2017 at Fairview Hospital after a long illness surrounded by her beloved children and friends.
A resident of Great Barrington since 1955, she was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1925 to Milton and Hester Potter.
She is survived by her beloved children, Raine Hall Rawlins and husband Alan of Macon, Georgia and Homer, Alaska, and her son Brian and his sons Patrick and Kevin of Cape Cod and Boston, Massachusetts and beloved cousin Muriel Alwaise-Costantini of Venice, Italy and beloved friend Jane Green of Great Barrington, Massachusetts as well as several close nieces and nephews and former daughter-in-law Pamela of Penn.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Fred, her sister Emily and her brother Neil.
She was a great lover of animals and nature.
She started her work life as a dental hygienist in NY City and then when she moved to Great Barrington, she and her husband Fred established and operated Berkshire Carpets and Interiors for many years, and also several years worked as a sales rep for the Lakeville Journal.
She was a member of the
Thursday
Morning Club and a past volunteer at the Great Barrington senior center and a past member of the local chapter of the NAACP and a lifelong proud Democrat.
SERVICES
- Calling hours will be held on
August 5th
starting at
10 o'clock
at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington, followed by a service at
11 o'clock
conducted by RC Deacon James McElroy. Burial to follow immediately at Saint Peter's Cemetery.
There will be a memorial celebration of her life at a future date.
