Corey Alan Wampler

July 23, 1990 — January 20, 2017

Corey Alan Wampler, 26, of Canaan, CT passed away on January 20, 2017.  Corey was taken from us in a tragic accident at his home doing what he loved best, working on cars.
He is survived by his wife Jayme Lynn Fleming-Wampler and their unborn daughter, Catherine Elizabeth Wampler. His mother, Noelle Pixley-Hosier and step-father, Timothy Hosier of Egremont, MA. His father, Scott Wampler and step-mother Kristen Wampler of Pittsfield, MA. His sister, Miranda Hosier of Egremont, MA, a step-brother, Anthony Hosier of Becket, MA, and a step-brother, Benjamin Wampler of Pittsfield, MA.  He also leaves behind his in-laws who loved him like he was their own; Alan and Tammy Fleming of Canaan, CT, a sister-in-law Erin Fleming of Canaan, CT and a network of extended family and friends.
Corey was born in Pittsfield, MA on July 23, 1990.  He grew up in Southern Berkshire County and graduated from Mount Everett High School.  Corey graduated from United Technical Institute in North Carolina as a certified mechanic. Then worked several years for Skip Barber Racing and sub-contracted with pit crews at Saratoga, Lime Rock and Lebanon Valley, including Jimmy Langenback and Justin Barber .
When Corey decided to settle down, he came home and worked long hours, sometimes more than one job at a time to save for his future.  His full-time jobs included Sheffield Plastics and most recently Custom Extrusion in Sheffield, MA where his co-workers were like family.
In 2015 he met Jayme, the girl of his dreams. Jayme and Corey bought a house last year and made plans for their life together. They were married on September 3, 2016 and started down their path to "happily ever after".  Finding out they were about to be parents of a little girl was the culmination of all Corey’s dreams. They chose the name Catherine for their unborn daughter and Corey couldn’t wait to be a father.
Corey brought light, life and laughter to everyone who crossed his path. He reached the hearts of every person he encountered and impressed them with his work ethic, genuine character, wonderful sense of humor, and kind heart.  The world has definitely lost a Gentle Giant.
Corey was an organ donor and helped several people in the Berkshire community and many others nationwide.
