Dana Jay Summers, 57, of Iron Mine Road passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at his home. Born November 6, 1956 in Boston, MA, Dana was the son of Benjamin and Renee Davis Summers. He graduated from Scituate High School in 1974 and Northeastern University in 1986 as a Registered Pharmacist. Dana married his wife, the former Jennifer Goddard, on October 6, 1990 in Brunswick, Maine. Together the couple moved from Cape Cod to the Berkshires in 1996. Mr. Summers worked for Thayer Pharmacy, Brooks Pharmacy and for the past 18 years he was the Pharmacy Manager at Price Chopper in Great Barrington. Previously he worked at Paragon Park, an amusement park on Nantasket Beach in Hull, MA and Chloride Pyrotech in Boston, MA. Dana loved listening to music and attending Bluegrass Festivals (especially the Thomas Point Beach Festival in Brunswick, ME). He enjoyed swimming, the ocean and was a diehard New England sports fan. He also loved doing crossword puzzles, ring-dings and M&M's. He was a collector of vinyl records, t-shirts and pharmaceutical pens. Along with his parents, Benjamin and Renee Summers, Dana is survived by his wife of nearly 25 years, Jennifer Summers, their children Zachary, Tyler and Lexzi Summers and his brother Michael Summers and his wife Dee. A service celebrating Dana's life will be held on Thursday, June 12th at 1:00 p.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 11th from 4-7p.m. at the funeral home in Great Barrington. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dana J.
