David Alan Spaniol, 65, of Great Barrington died unexpectedly at home on April 21, 2017.
He was born in Pittsfield on April 12, 1952 to Walter and Lillian Rockwell Spaniol. He graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1970.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years Jacqueline Barnum Spaniol, a daughter Megan E Spaniol, a son Mathew D Spaniol, his sister Sandy Kubisek of Hudson, NY, his brother William and wife Pat Spaniol of Stephentown, NY, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind two beloved rescue dogs, Dana and Fox.
He is predeceased by his parents and 3 siblings, James Spaniol, Robert Spaniol, and Peggy Williams.
David worked at Becton Dickinson in Canaan, CT for 31 years, retiring in 2015.
He was an avid sports fan, especially supporting the Red Sox, Patriots, and Bruins. David loved to fish with his children and bring them to the beach. He was especially proud of Megan's artistic talent and watching Matt play hockey.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, April 27th at 11:00 a.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington, conducted by Pastor Ken Phesay.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 26th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
