Dennis G. Thomas, beloved friend and colleague, passed away peacefully at the age of 64, on December 6, 2014. Dennis served as Director of Finance for Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in Becket for nineteen years. He was a dedicated staff member, supportive mentor, and trusted friend. A seasoned arts administrator, he served on staff at arts organizations across the East coast, including Philadelphia's Fabric Workshop and Museum; Spoleto Festival USA; Boston's Next Move Theatre Company; and Boston Ticket Services. His volunteer associations and Board membership spanned many community arts councils and performing arts organizations. He was a tireless advocate for Dancers Responding to AIDS, volunteering and raising funds for the organization and its efforts. Dennis loved musical theater and all things Southern. He was a consummate gentleman. He loved to cook and share hearty laughs with friends and family. A Celebration of Dennis Thomas will be held at Jacob's Pillow on Saturday, Dec. 13 from 11 - 12:30 p.m., in the Stone Dining Room, in Hunter House at 358 George Carter Road in Becket, Mass. Gifts in honor of Dennis may be sent to Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival through FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230, who is handling the arrangements.
