Domenica Pietrangolare, 54, of Great Barrington, MA peacefully passed after a long battle with cancer on December 17, 2014 while surrounded by her family. Domenica, affectionately nicknamed and known as Dee, was born in the Bronx, NY on January 20, 1960 to Caroline and Dominick Pietrangolare. She is survived by her sisters Clara, Antionette, and Caroline, her brother Frank, and her three children, Darla, Giorgia, and Adam. Domenica was always known for her brilliant smile, great sense of humor, words of encouragement, and kindness to others. She loved her family, painting, singing and songwriting, dancing, and working in her garden. She was responsible for the restoration and beautification of all lighthouses on the Hudson River, and her coordination with international humanitarian foundations helped provide food, shelter, and medical assistance for thousands of people across the globe. She assisted in writing government grants while working for the USDA, and was a licensed realtor in New York State. She was one of the most unique individuals recognized by all who she knew, and she has left a major influential impact on countless people, whether friends or strangers. A memorial service will be held for Domenica at Finnerty and Stevens Funeral Home at 426 Main Street, Great Barrington, MA 01230 on Tuesday, December 23rd between the hours of 4pm and 7pm.
