Archa Beth Hodges died in the arms of her loving family on Tuesday, August 25, 2015. Much beloved, Archa was born in Montreal, Canada, on May 15, 1959. A graduate of McGill University, Archa came to Massachusetts to volunteer at the Kripalu Center in 1991. Here she met and married the love of her life, Abhi Scott Smith, in 1996. Archa is survived by her husband, Abhi Scott Smith, of Great Barrington, by her dear mother, Carmen Hodges, of Montreal, by her daughter, Laura Murray of Peterborough, Ontario, and by her brothers, Art and John, of Quebec. Reuniting with her loving daughter, Laura Murray, who has brought solace and love to her during this illness, has provided the culmination of her heart's desire. Archa has been a long-time employee of the Kripalu Center, in Lenox, Ma. Massage therapist, Ayurvedic consultant, yoga and dance teacher, as well as workshop leader, Archa has touched the lives of many, offering healing and love in her unique, quirky and profoundly creative way. An avid hiker, an outdoor enthusiast, a lover of yoga and study and committed spiritual practices, Archa will be forever missed by her family and by the community that will always love her.
