Elizabeth "Bette" Pino

Elizabeth "Bette" Woodin Pino, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at Lee Health Care on September 20, 2026. She was 92 years old. Bette was born on May 4, 1934, in Lee, Massachusetts, to her loving parents, Phineas and Ruth Losaw Woodin. Known for her warmth and generosity, Bette was a beacon of kindness in the lives of those who knew her.

Bette grew up in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts, where she attended the former Williams High School. During her formative years, she began working for a local family, a role that honed the skills she would use throughout her life to create a warm and loving home. These early experiences sparked a lifelong passion for baking and knitting. Her family fondly recalls the delicious meals she prepared and the beautiful handmade sweaters she lovingly crafted for everyone, including the family dog.

On October 8, 1955, Bette married Robert Pino in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Their union spanned an incredible 70 years, marked by love, laughter, and mutual support. Together, they raised four loving daughters: Jane, Marlene, Lynn (Wayne Dolby), and Ruth Pino. Bette's family was her pride and joy, and she devoted herself to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment in which they could thrive.

Bette was a devoted homemaker, but she also worked at the former Monument Mills and the former Jug End Barn, where she made lasting friendships and contributed to her community. Her commitment to service extended beyond her family, as she proudly served as a Camp Fire Girl leader, guiding her daughter's troop with enthusiasm and care.

Known for her generous spirit, Bette loved to gather her family for weekly dinners, where she always made room at the table for friends and new faces. Her home was a sanctuary, offering warmth and hospitality to anyone in need. Although she sometimes tried to hide her softer side, those who received her kindness knew the depth of her compassion and commitment to those she loved.

Bette was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert, her parents Phineas and Ruth, her brothers Charles and James Woodin, her sister Barbara Woodard, and her grandson Mark "Max" Calderone. She is survived by her daughters, her grandchildren Jennifer Calderone, Heather Nicolai Oliver, and Dillon Calderone, and her great-grandchildren Dylan, Hudson, Everett Calderone, and Hannah Oliver. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on through them.

SERVICE - Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bette's life on Monday September 28, 2026, at 2:30 PM at Finnerty and Stevens Funeral Home, located at 426 Main Street in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. Interment of both Bette and Bob will take place immediately after the service at Hillside Cemetery in North Egremont, Massachusetts. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to those staff members at Lee Healthcare who treated Bette with a little extra kindness and compassion.
