Elizabeth "Bette" White

February 17, 1925 — November 27, 2023

Elizabeth “Bette” White, a longtime resident of Stockbridge, MA died on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Kimball Farms Nursing Center in Lenox, MA at the age of 98.

Born on February 17, 1925 in Springfield, MA she was the daughter of Adolpho and Alfonsina (Borgatti) Guidetti.  Following graduation from Bryant College Elizabeth worked as a “Breck Girl” modeling for Breck Shampoo.

Elizabeth, affectionately known as Bette met Fayette O. White, Jr. and the couple was married on April 18, 1951. Primarily a homemaker, Bette worked as a secretary for Berkshire Country Day School and was one of the first seamstresses for Country Curtains. The couple was married for 59 years before Fayette died on June 27, 2010.

Elizabeth was a member of the Junior League of Pittsfield as well as a volunteer at The Mount in Lenox.  She enjoyed spending time outdoors, playing tennis and loved gardening.

Bette is survived by her beloved children, Jennifer Carmichael of Stockbridge, MA; Christopher White and wife Jane of Weston, MA; Robin Race and her husband Thomas of Egremont, MA; Mark White of Stockbridge, MA; Jacqueline Rupert and husband David of Troy, VT.  She also leaves her 11 grandchildren, John Carmichael, Mason and Peter White, Valerie, Tyler and Scott Race, Katie Mancino and Hannah, Danielle, Samantha and Jack White as well as 11 great grandchildren.

Along with her husband, Fayette, she was also predeceased by her son David White in 1977 and her granddaughter Victoria White in 1986.

SERVICE: As per her wishes service and burial will be private.  There will be no calling hours.
