Florence A. Sasso

Florence Ann Sasso; 81 years young passed away in the early morning hours of November 27, 2021 in her home of forty plus years in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.  Florence passed in the arms of her much-loved brother Gerald Sasso flanked by her two adored dogs Timone and Cris Cringle.

Born in Brooklyn, New York on October 14, 1940 to Mildred Doster and Joseph Sasso Jr., Florence is one of four children; Gerald Sasso; Russell Sasso; and Robert Sasso.  Though Florence started her life in New York her family visits to Lake Buel drew her to the Berkshires at an early age and became her permanent home in the 1980’s.

Florence wore many very fashionable hats during her life; ekg technician at Flushing Hospital; running a ski resort in Bromley, Vermont; working for architects in New York City; and she was locally famous for her electrolysis business located in Great Barrington.

SERVICES – The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 8:00am to 8:45am at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington, MA. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 9:00am at St. Peter’s Church, 213 Main St., Great Barrington, MA. The burial will immediately follow at Holy Cross Cemetery at 3620 Tilden Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11203.
