Franck E. Felix, a beloved father, valued community member, and proud Marine Corps veteran, died Saturday, April 18, 2026 at his home in Housatonic, MA. He was 77 years old.

Born on October 2, 1948, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, he was the son of Marie Pierre Louis Felix. He immigrated to the United States in 1958 and was raised and educated in Brooklyn, NY. In 1967, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.

A proud veteran, Franck served his country in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1978. He returned to Brooklyn, where he met his former wife, Veronica Deyeso and had their three children, Frankie, Nicholas, and John. In 1984, the family moved to Great Barrington and settled in Tyringham two years later.

Franck’s deep love of country and commitment to serving others continued when he joined Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in 1985. Over a career spanning more than 40 years, his bright smile, soothing voice, and warm embrace brought comfort to thousands of families during their most difficult times.

His humble wisdom paired with his effortless skill to hold you to a high standard made everyone around him better. Those who had the honor to work and serve alongside Franck came to appreciate his ability to balance professionalism and fun.

The most impressive part of Franck was not his deep care for his family and community, but his ability to act benevolently upon it. He was a longtime member of the Southern Berkshire Volunteer Ambulance Squad, a member of the Lions Club, and a dedicated volunteer for the Special Olympics.

Franck was actively involved in the community and enjoyed sharing his passion for music and the performing arts through community bands and theater. He was also an avid runner and athlete who completed numerous marathons and was a familiar sight training along the roads of Tyringham.

Known for his presence on the local social scene, he always took pride in dressing to impress. He especially loved entertaining, and his rich baritone voice made him unforgettable in performances with “The Earth Angels.”

He cherished Berkshire County and the many lifelong friendships he formed here. He will be missed and remembered fondly for his presence, his service, and his gracious love. Oorah!

He is survived by his sons, Franck Felix, Jr. (“Frankie”) of Hinsdale, MA; Nicholas Felix and his wife, Amy, of Pittsfield, MA; John Felix and his fiancée, Julie Rider, of Pittsfield, MA; and his grandson, Jacob Felix of Louisville, KY.

He was predeceased by his mother, Marie Pierre Louis Felix, and his brothers, Edmund and Reynold Felix.
