George Washington Davis, Iii

George Washington Davis, III, 76, died Monday afternoon, October 9, 2023 at Berkshire Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Sandisfield, MA where he had been a resident for the past several years.

Born on October 30, 1946 in York, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late George W. Davis, II and Elva (Hill) Davis.

George was a U.S. Veteran and proudly served his country.  He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1968 and received the National Defense Medal for his service.  He enjoyed nothing more than being with his family spending time in the mountains and by the ocean in the states of Maryland, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Vermont and Maine.  He had fond memories of working on his favorite cars in high school and he enjoyed reading science fiction.  George will be remembered by all who knew him as a gentle, loving, humble and kindhearted soul who will be sorely missed.

George is survived by his brother, Jerry Davis and sister-in-law Margaret Dalton Davis of Berwick, Maine.
