Irene I. Weigle

November 15, 1961 — March 29, 2017

Irene Isabelle Weigle, 55, of Hayes Hill Road in New Marlborough died March 29, 2017 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

Irene was born in Great Barrington, MA on November 15, 1961, the daughter of deceased parents, Arthur Anstett and Helen Pixley Anstett. She was raised and lived in the Village of Mill River. It was there she raised her son, Travis.

She was the glue that held together an extended family. She hosted and planned many family events.
Irene was an avid reader, enjoyed handcrafts, crocheting, gardening, her pool, and anything Halloween.

Irene’s career spanned over 30 years as a nurse in long term care. She was a well respected professional who also found time in addition to her full time nursing responsibilities to provide homecare to individuals as needed.

Irene is survived by her son Travis Weigle, her life partner Paul Handlowich, her former husband David Weigle, two sisters, Mary Donahue and Louise Eichstedt and her brother Charles Anstett. She also leaves three nieces, two nephews, two grand nieces and two grand nephews.

Funeral services for Irene I. Weigle were private.
