James L. Byrne, Sr., 92, died Sunday, January 23, 2022 at home on Town House Hill Road, Egremont, Massachusetts. He was born December 8, 1929 in Huntington, New York, the son of Mr. Charles Byrne and Mrs. Louise (Proske) Byrne.
James served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant during the Korean War. James enjoyed a long career as a plumber in Suffolk County, NY followed by 30 plus years of service with the Southern Berkshire Regional School District.
Surviving James are his children, daughters Kathleen L. Silvestri of Redding, CT, Louise A. Harvey, Alice D. Tortoriello and a son James L. Byrne, Jr. all of Egremont, MA as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
James was predeceased by two of his grandchildren, Jared C. Tortoriello and Tiffany E. Byrne.
SERVICES – Following his cremation, James will be buried with his father and mother at St. John’s Cemetery in Brooklyn N.Y. The family will hold a private service at that time.
