Mrs. Jean Savoy passed away peacefully at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home in Albany, New York the evening of June 30, 2016 at the age of 94. She was born in Bristol, CT. and spent most of her life in Great Barrington, MA.
Jean was predeceased by her loving husband of 73 years, Joseph Savoy and her brother Berkley Marchione of Mill River, MA.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jeri Bosman and her husband Bob of Delmar, NY, and Pamela Hogarty of Yellow Springs, Ohio, her adoring grandchildren Robin Dobos and her husband Evan of Bantam, CT and Todd Smith and his wife Laura of Voorhesville, NY. Much of the joy in her later years came from her five great grandchildren, Quinn, Owen, Charlie Mae, Connor and Ivy. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Gloria Marchione, a nephew and several nieces.
Jean was a loving homemaker known for her beautiful sewing, knitting and handwork. She was a strong caring woman who was always there for friends and family in need with a helping hand or sound words of advice. Jean was loved by her family and many friends, who will miss her dearly.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 6th at 2:00 p.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington, MA, conducted by Rev. Charles VanAusdall. There will be a private burial at a future date.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 6th from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
