Joan Marie Arienti

Joan Marie Arienti, 86, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2022 at BMC in Pittsfield, MA. She joined this world on May 29, 1935 in Great Barrington, MA, the daughter of Anthony and Blanche (Kolek) Ptak.

Joan mothered 6 wonderful children and worked part time at the Jennifer House for many years. She later worked as a special education teacher’s aide at MMRSD, retiring from that position after 20 years. Joan was a very talented artist with a deep passion in drawing, painting, and collecting art pieces. As an avid reader, Joan utilized the local libraries throughout her life. She loved sewing and antiques which grew into her owning an antique and collectibles shop for several years. Afterwards she ran the Red Door on Railroad St in Great Barrington for many dedicated years.

She is survived by her children David Arienti (Ronda), James Arienti Sr, Lynne Arienti, Gregg Arienti (Stacy), and Nina Yeaman (James). She is also survived by her grandchildren, James Arienti Jr (Kayla), Tia and Joseph (Molly)Lepera, Timothy (Cara) and Trevor Pinson, Peter Newton, and Justin Petrillo, her great-grandchildren, Jocelyn(Ryan), Santino, and Marcello Arienti, Skylar Martin, and Joseph Restifo, and her great-great grandchildren, Sean LeBlanc III, Camden and Nash Lepera, and Boston O'Connell. Joan also leaves behind her brother Anthony R. Ptak Jr. (Tom) and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son, Peter Arienti, and great-grandson Lorenzo Restifo. Now reunited and gracefully together for the rest of days.

SERVICES – A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 10:00am at St. Bridget's Cemetery on Van Deusenville Road in Housatonic, MA.
