Joan E. " Betty" Vigneron

September 14, 1931 — November 30, 2017

Joan Elizabeth "Betty" Vigneron passed away November 30th at home in Great Barrington, MA where she was a longtime resident since 1957.

She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-one years, Dr. E. Morgan Vigneron M.D., her sister Teresa Fulton of Briarcliff, NY, and brother Stanley Nowak of Barrington, RI.

Betty is survived by her three sons: David of Stockbridge, MA Thomas of Great Barrington, MA and Daniel of Corte Madera, CA, and grandchildren Levi, Seth and Zara.

Betty loved the Berkshires and the people here.  Personally, she enjoyed hiking, running, flying as a private pilot, and teaching practical science, and thus naturally felt moved to protect our environment.  She loved science and education in general, graduating from Simon’s Rock College in 1983 and studied advanced teaching at UMass Amherst.
