John H. Eichstedt, Jr.

November 25, 1944 — June 13, 2023

John H. Eichstedt Jr, 78, of Great Barrington, MA passed away on June 13, 2023 at Fairview Commons. He was born on November 25, 1944, the son of John and Augusta (Hitchcock) Eichstedt. He married his late wife, Linda (Stalker) Eichstedt, on September 25, 1966 in Great Barrington.

John lovingly went by “Hollywood” to his friends and family. He worked as a truck driver for most of his life. He loved camping, playing Bingo, getting scratch tickets, and betting on horses.

John is survived by his daughter, Marlena (Al), his sisters Ellen (Alton), Debbie (Bobby), his granddaughter Tiffany, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Linda, his parents, John and Augusta, his sisters, Karen and Bonnie, and his son-in-law Eric.

SERVICES — The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home, 426 Main Street, Great Barrington, MA 01230. The burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, 90 Stockbridge Road, Great Barrington, MA 01230. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in John’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
