John Andrew Johnston

December 27, 1926 — February 1, 2017

John “Andy” Johnston, Age 90, died Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Fairview Commons.
Born December 27, 1926 in Mill River, Massachusetts, the son of John and Elizabeth Morrison Johnston. He attended New Marlborough High School and served in the U.S. Army from March 1945 to December 1946, stationed in the Western Pacific for 14 months as part of the Americal Division/23rd Infantry Division and then joining the 209th Military Police Battalion.

Upon returning from service in World War II, Andrew worked with his brothers in various farming ventures and also served as a Manager at Clayton Farms.

Andrew was an avid snowmobiler, he loved being outdoors and was a passionate Yankees fan. He was a quiet and kind man with a great sense of humor. He is survived by his sister, Margaret Dawood and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers William, Edward, Francis, Robert and Richard and sister Mary

Per Andrew’s request there will be no services and a private family burial. A memorial service will be held at a later date for family.
