John M. Snyder

John Snyder, 83, resident of Great Barrington, MA, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Born in Egremont, MA on March 22, 1940, he was the son of William and Louise Morandi Snyder.

John was a husband, father, papa, and more. He was the supervisor of the minerals department for the company, Pfizer, for over forty plus years. John also served in the Army Reserves from 1961-1963. He was a true leader, and had a love for hunting, bowling, and golfing.

Anyone who was lucky enough to know John knew how genuine, humble, and caring he was. He loved his family more than anything.

John is predeceased by his late wife of over sixty years, Barbara Snyder, and siblings Billy and Betty-Anne.

He leaves behind siblings Shirley Roots, Nancy Peck, Lorraine Love, Anne McDermott, Lily Hankey, Janey Eichstedt, James Snyder, David Snyder, and Larry Ball. His sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Ed Pruhenski. His three sons, John Snyder Jr (Joely), Joe Snyder (Nicole), and Jeff Snyder (Elizabeth). As well as his grandchildren, Skylar, Autumn, Caitlyn, Giada, Parker, and Ricky.

SERVICES - For all and any who would like to share their condolences- on Tuesday, February 20th, there will be a calling hour for any last respects from 10-11am at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington in lieu of a wake. This will be followed by a quick service at the funeral home, then proceeding to St. Peter’s cemetery for burial.

Family and friends are also then welcomed to the Great Barrington VFW at 1:00 pm for a celebration of John’s life.
