Joseph Lockwood

Joseph J. Lockwood, 85, died on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Fairview Commons.

He was born on April 8, 1936, in Hempstead, NY, the son of John J. Lockwood and Matilda Lange.

Joseph and his wife, Madeline, owned and operated Lamplighter, located on Main Street in Great Barrington, MA and specialized in lighting, shades, and repairs. They both retired and sold the business in 2001.

Joseph was an avid bridge player at the Claire Teague Senior Center in Great Barringon, MA and loved sharing time with his family and friends.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife Madeline Lockwoood, his daughter Marianne MacCourt, and his two grandchildren, Henry MacCourt and Matilda MacCourt. He also leaves behind seven siblings and many nieces and nephews.

Joseph was pre-deceased by his parents, John. J. Lockwood and Matilda Lange.

SERVICES – A graveside service will take place Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 10:00am at Osborne Cemetery on North Egremont Road in Alford, MA conducted by Rev. William Murphy.
