Leeila G. Taylor, 96, passed away September 9, 2014. Born on March 21, 1918 in Coventry, VT she was the daughter of Maynard and Marjorie Dunn Watson. Her family moved to Massachusetts when she was quite young, she grew up in Monterey and lived in South County most of her life. She married the "Love of her Life", Richard Taylor, in 1936. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in November of 1996, just a few months before he passed away. Leeila was a home maker who loved to walk, watch Western movies and listen to music. She leaves her daughter Geraldine Goewey, her three grandchildren and their spouses; Blanche & John Lennington of Becket, Duane and Bonnie Goewey and Richard and Catherine Goewey of New Marlborough. Her five great grand children; Misty White of Pittsfield, Johnathon Goewey and Daniel Goewey of Gt. Barrington, Chelsi Arnspiger of Westly Chappel, FL, and Brenden Goewey of New Marlborough. She also leaves a great, great granddaughter Maia Perkins of Pittsfield. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Valley Church in Sheffield with the Rev. Bruce Teague, Pastor, as celebrant. Burial will follow in Corashire Cemetery, Monterey. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 15, 2014 from 4-7 pm at the funeral home in Great Barrington.
