Martin Clifford Love

The family of Martin Love is sad to share the news of his passing on Sunday, December 9, 2018.  Marty passed away surrounded by his family peacefully in his sleep.

Born June 5, 1933 in Great Barrington, MA he was the son of the late Clifford and Katherine Kilcourse Love. After graduating from local schools in Mill River, MA Marty joined the U.S. Navy and was trained as an air plane mechanic.  Most of his service was spent at Westover Air Force Base in Westfield, MA.  After leaving the Navy Marty married Ann Gregg in 1956.  They went on to have four children, Terry Love of California, Marcia Beverly of Pittsfield, MA, Dan Love of Mill River, MA and Cliff Love of Sandisfield, MA.  Marty is survived by his sister Helen Gilvar and her family of Wayland, MA, as well as three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Marty worked as a caretaker for the William’s Estate in New Marlborough for 30 years.  Following his retirement, he enjoyed many years keeping himself busy with his old cars, trips to Las Vegas and Keeno at MJ Tucker’s in Sandisfield.

SERVICE – The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 22 ^nd from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington, MA followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. There will be a reception to follow at MJ Tucker’s in Sandisfield.
