MARY P. ANDREGG Mary P. Andregg, 87, a former longtime resident of Sheffield and later Great Barrington passed away on June 14, 2014 at Geer Rehabilitation Center in Canaan where she had been a resident since moving to Geer Village in August of 2013. Born April 9, 1927 in Torrington, CT Mary was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Mary Hahne Patton. She graduated from local schools in Lakeville, CT and attended Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. Mary was a professional dog show handler. She loved dogs and raised Cairn Terriers for over 50 years. Throughout her career she handled all types of dogs for both herself personally as well as for others, just never poodles. On February 3, 1951 Mary married her husband, the late Edward J. Andregg. The couple owned and operated the Lochreggand Dairy Farm until 1989 after which they bred and raised young stock. Mary was also a former milk tester for the State of Connecticut and later for Massachusetts and New York. Mr. Andregg died on January 5, 1990. Mary is survived by her friend Margaret Hawley of Canaan, CT and her nephew Donald Cook of Canton, CT as well as several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 38 years Edward J. Andregg along with one brother and one sister. A service celebrating the life of the late Mary P. Andregg will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at Geer Village, 77 South Canaan Road, Canaan, CT in the Geer Village Chapel. There will be no calling hours.
