Mary Ann Huberman

October 2, 1945 — March 20, 2016

Mary Huberman was born in Boston, Massachusetts on October 2, 1945, and died peacefully at home in Alford on Sunday, March 20, 2016.

In 2005 she became a resident of Lee and Jim Conlon’s Feill Sheathain, part of Cadmus Lifesharing Association in Great Barrington.  Upon the Conlons’ recent retirement, Mary moved to another Cadmus household, the Alford House, home of Jared and Jackie Schultz. The years in this community were the happiest of her life. Mary participated in many activities offered in Great Barrington, including therapeutic horseback riding at Blue Rider Stables and classes offered by CATA (Community Access to the Arts). Not only did Mary take classes in fine arts, music with Vikki True, tap dancing, creative writing and Shakespeare, she was employed by CATA Direct, which produces fine craft items.

Mary served on the CATA Board. She also enjoyed swimming and yoga. A celebration of her life for family and friends will be held this summer.

Mary is survived by her sister, Marci Huberman; her sister and brother-in-law Robert and Sylvia Scholnick; her niece Julia Riley; her nephews, Joshua and his wife Ellen Cooper, Jonathan and his wife, Jessica Munson; and her great-nephews, Ethan and Abe, Noah and Aaron; along with many loving friends.

Donations in her memory may be made to Cadmus Lifesharing Association, CATA, and Hospice Care in the Berkshires through Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., 426 Main Street, Great Barrington, MA 01230.  To send remembrances to her family or sign the guestbook please go to www.finnertyandstevens.com
