Mildred Tatsapaugh Shmulsky, 93, died Friday, August 13, 2021 at her daughter’s home. She was born on April 13, 1928 in Sheffield, MA to Horace and Ann Tatsapaugh.
Mildred attended the local Sheffield Center School where she graduated in 1946 and then worked as a telephone operation. In 1947, she met and married her husband Alexander A. Shmulsky who had just returned from serving in WWII. Mildred’s wedding dress was made out of the silk from his parachute. They resided in Sheffield and raised 6 children on Berkshire School Road where she resided until her death.
Mildred is survived by her bother Horace Randall Tatsapaugh and wife Ruth of Greensboro, NC, son Alexander Theodore Shmulsky and wife Lucinda of New Marlboro, MA, daughter Elle Sable of Princeton, ME, daughter Nancy Shmulsky of Sheffield, MA, son Stephen Shmulsky and wife JoAnn of Sheffield, MA, 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews whom she loved very much and brought her great joy.
Aside from her husband and parents, Mildred was predeceased by her daughter Cheryl Kane Shmulsky in 2008, her son Daniel Shmulsky in 2007, and her grandson Matthew Shmulsky in 2002. Mildred devoted her life to raising her children and caring for her parents until their death.
