Myron Paul Wartella

Myron P.  Wartella, 57, of Great Barrington, MA passed away on June 3, 2022 surrounded by his family at BMC due to complications related to MS. He was born January 5, 1965 in Wilkes Barre, PA to Agnes (Biscotti) Peron and the late Myron M. Wartella. The family moved to the Berkshires in 1966. For the past 18 months he has lived at Fairview Commons in Gt Barrington.

Myron was a 1983 graduate of Mount Everett Regional High School. He was a skilled percussionist and athlete. Myron entered the United States Navy in June of that same year. He served until 1987 when he was honorably discharged.

Myron was part owner of The Touch of Class Sports Bar. Myron worked as an electrician for Charles Boutieller and Bailey and Wilbur Electrical Contractors.  He was in electrical sales for several years.

Myron was known for his charismatic personality and was a fixture in front of the Gt Barrington Post Office on his scooter waving to his friends. He loved music of all kinds and was often seen playing his invisible air guitar. Myron loved animals and never passed a dog he didn’t pet.

He is survived by his mother Agnes (Biscotti) Peron and step-father John of Lee, Ma and step-mother Linda Hoynoski, of Venice Fl. Myron leaves one son Lucas, of New York City, three sisters, Kathy Jo Grover of Lee, Ma, Deborah Cook of Egremont, Ma and Nadine Hawver of Sheffield, Ma. Myron is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank his long-time PCA Michelle Nourse and the many caregivers at Fairview Commons, especially Mario for their care and support of Myron during his battle with MS.

SERVICES – The funeral service for Myron will be held on Thursday, June 9 ^th at 11:00 a.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington.  Burial will follow immediately at Ashley Falls Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 8 ^th from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home in Great Barrington.
