Nancy E. Soudant

Nancy E. Soudant, 54, passed away on April 17, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born on March 28, 1963 she was the daughter of George and Marlene Kellogg Soudant. A lifelong resident of South Egremont, Nancy attended Mt. Everett Regional High School and graduated with the class of 1981. She later attended Mt. Holyoke College and received her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She also received certification from the Bonnie Prudden Myotherapy School.
For the last ten years Nancy was a devoted teacher at Undermountain Child Care, a profession that she dearly loved and in return was dearly loved by her “toddlers” and their families.
Nancy had a real zest for life and lived it to the fullest! She bungee jumped, sky dived, traveled cross country-solo, photographed all beautiful things, was an accomplished artist, loved cooking and baking, eagerly anticipated her Nantucket adventures, had a knack for decorating, loved sports, especially the Red Sox and Patriots, she gardened, and gave lovingly to everyone, expecting nothing in return. But above all, her family was her world. She rarely missed an event of any of her nieces, nephews, or great nephews and was usually seen with her camera capturing the highlights. Consequently, she leaves over 26 thousand photos on her computer.
Nancy is survived by her mother Marlene, with whom she lived, her sisters, Angel Rote and her husband Scott of Sheffield and Sally Soudant of Great Barrington. She also leaves her brothers, George Soudant, Jr. and his partner Kim Shaw of Sheffield and Joseph Soudant and his partner Jennifer Otte of Great Barrington. Nancy adored her nieces and nephews, Ashley Lotz and her husband Travis, Allison King and her husband Jason, Jordan Rote and his partner Amelia Skagias, Ashlee Shaw, John Michael Otte, Maddie Soudant, and Georgia Soudant as well as her great nephews; Camden, Levi and Brody King and Mason Lotz. She is also survived by her aunts, Jean Curtiss, Jackie Aquino, and Marjorie Kinne and her uncle/godfather John Kellogg. Along with her beloved puppy Tucket, and a close circle of friends and co-workers who made it so evident of their love for her during her illness.
Nancy was predeceased by her father, George Soudant, Sr. who died in 1988.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 1:00 at the VFW - James A. Modolo Post #8348, 800 South Main, St., Great Barrington, MA.
