Pearlie M. Conaway

Mrs. Pearlie M. Conaway, 77, a longtime resident of Great Barrington, MA departed this life on Friday, August 13, 2021 at her home.

Born February 25, 1944 in Goodwater, AL she was the daughter of Ellis and Mattie (Strong) Ballard.  She was a graduate of Coosa County School District and later received an Associates degree from Berkshire Community College.

A faithful employee of Becton Dickinson in Canaan, CT, Pearlie worked in manufacturing and human resources for 45 years before her retirement.

She was an active member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Great Barrington where she was the church secretary and a member of the missionary board.

Pearlie is survived by her daughter Sharon Stewart (Gregory) and her son Gerald Conaway all of Great Barrington, MA.  She also leaves her sister Rev. Mattie Conaway of Egremont, MA, six grandchildren Lakisha and Terrance Stewart, Deseraye, L.J., Damontti and Cassius Conaway, one great grandson Jaxton Carrigan, as well as seven sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Elijah Conaway, four sisters Annie, Thelma, Ruth and Esther and a brother T. Ellis.

SERVICES : A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, August 21 ^st at 12:00 p.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington, conducted by Rev. Joallen Forté. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 20 ^th from 4PM-7PM at the funeral home in Great Barrington.
