Phyllis A. Samuels, 95, of Sheffield, MA died Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Mount Carmel Care Facility in Lenox where she had resided for the last four months. The family would like to thank the staff of Mount Carmel for caring for her.
Phyllis was born in Salisbury, CT on July 15, 1926, the daughter of Harriet Farwell White and Alfred Francis White, Sr.
Mrs. Samuels was a great seamstress who loved making quilts for people. She donated to many charities including the SPCA and St. Jude’s.
She worked for Maplewood Fabrics in Ashley Falls for many years. However, she dedicated most of her time to making a home for her husband and children.
Phyllis is survived by two daughters, Sue Fulco and husband Frank of Lakeland, FL and Dawn Samuels Curtis of Beverly, MA, and her son, Shawn Samuels and his wife Cathy of Great Barrington, MA. She also leaves one brother, Walter White and his wife Brigette of Torrington, CT, four grandchildren, Cindy Goodrich & husband Jason, Frank Fulco, Jr. and wife Denise, Peter Fulco and Ashley Curtis, as well as two great grandchildren, Brecken and Bradyn Fulco.
She was predeceased by her husband Richard Nelson Samuels on June 16, 2000 as well as her brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 21 st at 11:00 a.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington. Burial will follow at Ashley Falls Cemetery.
