Robert W. Burns

Robert W. Burns, 42, better known as Rob died Monday morning April 23, 2024 at his home in Hillsdale, New York after a 15 month battle with cancer.

He was born on October 31, 1981 in Great Barrington, Mass where he attended local schools.

Rob was a very active member of his community.  He was a member of the Hillsdale Fire Company and was a Copake Rescue board member.  He was a wrestling coach as well as a mentor.

He worked for the Taghkanic Highway Department.

Rob is survived by his son, Robert Burns, Jr., brother, Ethan Hendrick, sister, Shawna Hamblin and his girlfriend, Maggie McBroom.

He was predeceased by his mother, Sharon (Gleason) Hamblin, and his maternal grandparent Don and Grace Gleason.

SERVICE: The family will receive friends on Monday, April 29th from 3-6pm at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington, MA.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 30th at 10:00 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery, 177 Egremont Plain Rd, Egremont, MA.
