Bob grew up on his family owned farm, Spruce Hill farm, in New Marlborough.  Bob graduated from Mt Everett High School, and then attended Berkshire Community College, eventually graduating with his bachelor’s degree in business, from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Bob always had a tremendous work ethic. He began mowing lawns at age 12 and never stopped working throughout his life. As a teenager, Bob worked at Mal’s Mobil, Goulotta’s Mobil, and Butternut Ski area. While attending college, Bob owned and ran Recession Painting Company. As an adult, Bob and John Dinan, of New Marlborough, began building homes. Bob continued on to build over 30 homes in the Berkshires. Bob then moved to Maui, Hawaii where his building career continued. While in Hawaii, he also ran the IAO Movie Theatre in Kihei. Bob eventually settled in Colorado and became involved in local politics, including environmental issues. Bob continued his building career in Colorado, until his struggle with Bipolar disorder brought him back to the Berkshires to be closer to the love and support of his family.
