Ruby Fuller

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ruby Lee (Dolford) Hargraves Fuller, 88, on May 23, 2023. She was the matriarch of her family and a grandmother to all.

She was born on April 21, 1935 in Timmonsville, SC, the daughter of Heyward Lighty and Pearline Dolford Taylor.

She attended Mayo High School in Darlington, SC and later worked as an LPN at Great Barrington Healthcare and as a Den Mother at the Kolburn School.

In her spare time, you could find Ruby fishing or gardening, but closest to her heart was Jehovah’s Kingdom, where she was baptized on July 24, 1982, and she would speak with anyone who would listen about her faith.

Ruby is survived by her son Wisdom Ellerbee of North Hampton, MA, five daughters, Celestine (Castine) Ellerbee of Springfield, MA, Carolyn Ellerbee of Pittsfield, MA, Gloria Staton of Pittsfield, MA, Wilhamenia Allen of Concord, CA, and Vermell Durant (Willard) of Pittsfield, MA. She also leaves her one loving adoptive nephew Anthony Taylor. She leaves behind her sister, Gloria Taylor, three brothers, Salam Taylor, Jamal Taylor, and Willie Lighty, as well as 27 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, and foster children.

She was predeceased by two husbands, Henry Hargraves and Robert Fuller, and two daughters, Rue Staton and Barbara Ann Ellerbee-Hargraves.

SERVICES — The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 12:00pm – 1:00pm at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home. A service will follow at 1:00pm at the Funeral Home followed by a burial at Elmwood Cemetery, 90 Stockbridge Road, Great Barrington, MA 01230.
