Sarah “Sally” Waibel Schuler passed away peacefully at the Landing at Laurel Lake on November 11, 2020. She was an Elementary teacher for many years in the Berkshire Hills School District. She loved opera and traveling the world. Sally was a big reader and fan of Jeopardy.
Sarah Schuler was born on January 19, 1933 in Painted Post, NY to Anthony Waibel and Mary Sayles Waibel. She graduated from State University of New York (Cortland) with a Bachelor’s in Education. Later she earned her Master’s at State University of New York (Albany). In 1965 she and Al moved to Interlaken Cross Road in Stockbridge where they raised their family
She is survived by her son, Thomas Schuler and her three daughters: Jennifer Schuler Plum, Margaret Schuler and Maribeth Schuler Forbes She was predeceased by her husband Albert Schuler and her daughter Julie Schuler Harrington. She is survived by her nine grandchildren: Bryce Schuler, Morgan Schuler, Caitlin Wolf, Bridget Forbes, Maggie Forbes, Andrew Plum, Elisabeth Plum, Jonathan Harrington, Cameron Harrington, and Laurel Harrington and two great grandchildren: Nicholas and Kennedy Wolf. She is also survived by her brothers, William Waibel and Richard Waibel and her beloved niece Cathy Hesse. She was predeceased by her sister Mary Waibel Morse.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on November 18 th at Saint Joseph’s Church in Stockbridge. Due to seating limitations, the family welcomes you to the graveside service thereafter at approximately 11:00 am at Saint Joseph’s Cemetery in Stockbridge. Masks are required and all COVID 19 guidelines will be followed.
