Thomas Biller

Thomas Rudolph Biller lost his battle to cancer on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at the age of 70. He was born on August 9, 1952 in San Francisco, California, the son of Rudy and Rosanna Biller.

While he struggled with his parents moving several times, Tom saw much of this country and grew a love of travel by attending several high schools starting in California. He attended Campolindo High School in Orinda, CA, Barrington High School in Barrington, RI, and finally Greenwich High School in Greenwich, CT. He was involved in many activities during his school days including being a starter on the football and gymnastic teams at all 3 high schools. Tom also had a passion for the drums and he played the drums in a high school garage band.

After high school, Tom used his love for food and became a chef at several restaurants in Greenwich, CT. One restaurant in particular, Jo C'est Bon, became his parents’ favorite where they had dinner several nights a week. He also worked as a chef at Greenwich Hospital where everyone loved his food.

In his 20s, Tom moved to the Berkshires ultimately landing in Great Barrington where he stayed for the rest of his life. In Great Barrington he continued working as a chef at the Williamsville Inn.

He was also an avid bowler chasing the perfect 300 score, and competed in the Mary Pratt Senior Bowling League at Cove Lanes.

In addition to being a great athlete, chef, and bowler, Tom had a natural gift for the arts, music, and drawing. He played the trumpet and piano by ear with no formal training. He enjoyed playing his trumpet at Our Lady of the Valley and showing off his art to family and friends. Despite his challenges, music and art continued to be a lifelong comfort.

Thomas is survived by his mother Rosanna Biller of Manhattan Beach, his sisters Jennifer Biller of San Francisco, Annamarie Collier of Manhattan Beach, and his brother-in-law Paul Flaherty. He was preceded in death by his father Rudolph Louis Biller.

SERVICES – A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 10:00am at St. Peter’s Church, 213 Main Street, Great Barrington. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. William P. Murphy. To send remembrances to the family, please visit finnertyandstevens.com .
