Violet M. Cronk, 92, passed away at Geer Nursing & Rehabilitation on December 2, 2015.

Born on February 18, 1923, in New Marlborough, she was the daughter of Robert and Helen Bailey McLean. She was educated in local schools.

She married her husband Paul Cronk, Sr. in 1945 and they lived in Ashley Falls where they raised their family. Violet was primarily a homemaker, something she took great pride in. She loved caring and cooking for her family and all the neighborhood kids who were friends of her boys.

She is survived by her two sons Robert and Steven Cronk, her grandchildren; Alicia Cronk Davis, Veronica Cronk, Steven Cronk and Joseph Cronk and several great grandchildren. She also leaves her nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son Pvt. 1st Class Paul M. Cronk, Jr., who was killed in the Vietnam War and her husband Paul.

Services for the late Violet Cronk will be on Monday, December 7, 2015 with calling hours beginning at 10:00 A.M. until 12:30 at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington. Following the calling hours there will be a graveside service at the Ashley Falls Cemetery.
