Virginia S. Markham, 84, of Home Road in Sheffield passed away early Thursday morning, October 13, 2016 at Fairview Commons in Great Barrington.
Born June 14, 1932 in Otis, MA she was the daughter of Laurence and Clara Langdon LaRock. She attended local schools and went on to graduate from the former St. Luke’s Nursing School with a license as a LPN.
Virginia was devoted to her family; she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She loved to crochet and over the years she made everything from blankets to nativity scenes.
She is survived by her daughter Rose Glaszcz and her husband Skip of Sheffield, MA, her sister Alicia Brazie of New Marlborough, MA, her grandchildren Michelle Amstead and Joe Glaszcz, four great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband William W. Markham on September 28, 2005. The couple was married on November 24, 1973. She was also predeceased by four brothers, Don, Larry, Fred and Vernon LaRock.
The funeral for Virginia S. Markham will be held on Tuesday, October 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington, conducted by Rev. Jill Graham. Burial will follow at the Alfred Lesh Cemetery in Sheffield.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 16th from 2:00p.m. until 5:00p.m. at the funeral home in Great Barrington.
