Warren "Bud" Candee

Warren R. Candee, “Bud”, 88, of Hillsdale Road in Egremont, MA died on March 19, 2024 at Fairview Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Great Barrington, MA.

Born on December 28, 1935 in Canaan, CT he was the son of Warren M. Candee and Gertrude Ubbink Candee.

In retirement, Bud refused to slow down. He continued to run a property maintenance business and kept busy milling lumber on his Woodmizer Sawmill.  He won esteemed awards for his custom built cabin and barn.  He also loved vegetable gardening, land clearing, tinkering with mechanical engines and helping friends and neighbors whenever possible.

Bud is survived by his wife of 69 years, Evelyn (Flusaro) Candee.  The couple was married October 15, 1954 in Hillsdale, NY.  Along with his children, Ann Marie Hart of Monterey, MA, Richard Candee, Housatonic, MA, Robert Candee, Monterey, MA and Mark Candee, Severn, MD.  He is also survived by six siblings Sherri Roberts, Mari Gasperini, Tom Candee, Howard Candee, Laurel Ellis and Allen Bills as well as seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by six siblings, Bettie Wheeler, Theo Candee, Jim Candee, Marshal Bills, Marlynn Pierce and Norman Bills.

A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.
