William F. Finkle

William F. Finkle, 72, a longtime resident of Park Street in Housatonic died unexpectedly early Saturday morning, June 18, 2022.

A native and lifelong resident William was born in Great Barrington, MA on October 26, 1949, the son of the late Arthur and Edna (Hastedt) Finkle.

A veteran of Vietnam, William was drafted into the U.S. Army on August 20, 1969 and served until he was honorably discharged on July 26, 1971.

William worked as a Millwright at the former Rising Paper Mill in Housatonic for 39 years until 2013 at which time he went to work in the maintenance department at the Lenox Shoppes.

Billy was an avid fan of classic cars and could often be found at the various car shows throughout the area.  He was also a true-blue Patriot’s fan.  However, above all else he was a family man.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda (Love) Finkle, whom he married on February 17, 1973 in Housatonic, MA.  He is also survived by their three children: Missy Phillips and husband Mark of Pittsfield, MA, Michael Finkle of Housatonic, MA and Marlena Hunt and husband PJ of Stockbridge, MA.  Billy also leaves three grandchildren: Lauren and Logan Phillips and Maddie Peetros; three sisters: Cindy, Joan and Susie Finkle all of Clayton, MA and his brothers-in-law whom he considered family, John, Kevin, Tim and Wayne Love and his sister-in-law, Tina Love.

SERVICES - The funeral celebrating the life of William F. Finkle will be held on Friday, June 24 ^th at 11:00 a.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington, conducted by Rev. Tara Tetzlaff.  Burial with Military Honors will follow at Pelton Brook Cemetery in Great Barrington.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 23 ^rd from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Great Barrington.
