Jeannie Lowe of Malta, New York and formerly of Knight Rd. in New Marlborough, Mass passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024 at her home with family by her side.
Jeannie was born on July 23rd, 1946, in Hanover, Germany to Bronislawa & Roman Bialkowski and immigrated with her parents to the United States, settling and growing up in Great Barrington, Mass
Jeannie was a 1964 graduate of Searles High School.
Jeannie eventually moved to New Marlborough and raised her three children, predominantly on her own, instilling the strong values, independence and great humor she had in each of them.
Jeannie worked for Mead Specialty Papers and was a long tenured administrator at Kolburne School. Jeannie loved to travel, play Bingo and spend time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchild and her dear friends Carol Bojarczuk and Barbara Dewey, along with her dog, Boo.
Jeannie was predeceased by her parents and grandson Brian Tyler.
Jeannie leaves behind her son Rick MacDowell and his wife Kathy of Sheffield, Mass. Son Dan Lowe and his wife Michelle also of Sheffield and daughter Jennifer Tompkins and her husband Chris of Salisbury, CT. Additionally she leaves her granddaughter Elissa Ciaburri and husband Joe, Grandson Keith Tyler and girlfriend Ashley, Grandson Matthew Lowe, Granddaughters Kaelyn and Dana Tompkins, grandson Ryan Tompkins and great granddaughter Madelyn Ciaburri.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 25th from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 AM at Sheffield Center Cemetery, Sheffield, Mass followed by a gathering of friends and family at Fiddleheads restaurant in Great Barrington.
